Tales of Cape Cod – Keynote

June 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Vice Admiral Sandy Stosz spent time on Cape Cod visiting her grandparents at their home on Great Bay in Falmouth throughout her childhood. During those summers, she learned to ply a rowboat, dig for clams, and swim in the ocean. Having developed a liking for the sea and its lore here on the Cape, she attended the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. Upon commissioning, she spent 36 years serving our Nation as a Coast Guard cutterman. She spent 12 years at sea, including deployments on icebreakers to the Arctic and Antarctic, and commanded two ships. After retiring, she wrote a book, Breaking Ice & Breaking Glass: Leading in Uncharted Waters, to give back leadership lessons learned during her four decades in uniform. After retiring, her track line led her “home” to Cape Cod where she resides with her husband in Falmouth. Vice Admiral Stosz’s talk will spotlight the US Coast Guard, and feature lessons and stories from her leadership journey with the Service.
