Grand Valley State University Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies: Veterans Day Celebration

November 11, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

DESCRIPTION

Although not officially known as Veterans Day until 1954, November 11th was originally established as Armistice Day in 1919, to honor the end of World War I. The historical significance of the date – the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – provides an extraordinary backdrop to honor and celebrate all American veterans.

This Veterans Day, to pay tribute to all the men and women in uniform, past and present, the Hauenstein Center, Grand Valley State University’s Office of the President, and Grand Valley State University’s Peter Secchia Military and Veteran Resource Center are proud to welcome Vice Admiral Sandra Stosz, author of Breaking Ice & Breaking Glass: Leading in Uncharted Waters.

In addition to members of the Hauenstein Center, we invite all community members who are veterans or military-connected to join us for hors d’oeuvres and drinks at 5:30 PM in the Meijer Regency Room prior to Vice Admiral Sandra Stosz’s keynote which will begin at 7 PM in the Loosemore Auditorium.

This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as 55andupalumni, academic, alumni, hauenstein, president, and veterans.
